Does any of this sound familiar to you?
Does any of this sound familiar?
You're in the right place.
In The Confident Photographer course, I walk you through the most important technical factors that go into creating a photograph, so that you can think on your feet and create images that inspire you.
"Erin teaches not only the settings and techniques but also how to create a story through your photographs. She changed my perspective about photography with this course. I binge-watched her course through the weekend and it was mind blowing! The videos are very interactive with many examples from her own work for you to see in a practical way what she is explaining. I feel way more confident now to use my DSLR. Thank you Erin!"

Here's what you'll learn
Before we get started with settings, we discuss the elements that go into a "good" photo in order to start training your eye. I teach you what to look for so that you can begin thinking about the specifics of things like composition, lighting, and focus in your own work. We then come back to these topics at the end of the course to discuss how camera settings work together with these elements.
What makes a "good" photo anyway?
01
After an overview of your camera gear, we dive in to The Settings. In dedicated lessons on aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, I teach you what each of these does individually, and how they interact when all together. I give you visual aids to help you understand what each setting really DOES so that you can actually use your knowledge, not just memorize some arbitrary numbers.
The Technical Stuff
02
I can't teach you the basics without including lessons on these topics– it just wouldn't be me! What makes photography so powerful is often the degree of intention behind it. Learning how to "see," or to truly pay attention, is such a crucial skill when it comes to storytelling. I detail what this actually looks like in practice, and give you actionable steps to apply to your process.
Intention, Storytelling, & How to SEE
03
There are plenty of myths and limiting beliefs about photography out there, some that you may have heard, and some that you even have yourself. We discuss and challenge these so that you have the best possible mindset to apply your new technical skills.
Shifting Your Limiting Beliefs
04
Imagine if you...
Brought your camera with you on every trip because you feel confident using it.
Knew what settings to use for every lighting scenario.
Felt PROUD of the images you were creating, and the process behind them.
No longer felt intimidated or held back by your camera settings.
Were EXCITED for future photography projects now that you have a solid understanding of your settings.
Learn your camera settings, grow your confidence, and elevate your photography.
1.5 hours of presentations to teach you key concepts and illustrate them visually
Two pocket guides (think cheat sheets) on Manual Mode and Shutter Speed to keep in your kit or on your phone for when you need a refresher
Photography Scavenger Hunt to put your knowledge into practice right away
My philosophy & methods for intentional photography and storytelling
Instructional how-to PDF for how to activate Back-Button focus
Lifetime access to the course so you can come back to it whenever you want
The Confident Photographer
I've been shooting all my life (got my first camera out of a box of cereal when I was 7 or 8). Thank you for so many "new" things to think about before pushing the shutter. I especially like 'WHAT SEEING IS' and 'WHAT SEEING ISN'T'. Best advice: get up out of the chair and go "see."
